Performance in all conditions.
With over 198 years of experience and tradition, engineering excellence is essential to ELEY tenex's success. ELEY's highly qualified engineers combine state-of-the-art machinery with high-speed electronic visual inspection systems and Six Sigma methodologies to produce cartridges that have redefined .22 LR caliber precision worldwide.
ELEY tenex biathlon was launched in 2012, following extensive research and development dedicated to the sport of biathlon, the athletes, and their requirements. ELEY tenex was used as the basis for developing this new cartridge.
The iconic flat-point projectile of the ELEY tenex is one of the many innovations developed by ELEY engineers. As it travels through the air, its revolutionary design shifts the center of pressure forward, aerodynamically stabilizing the projectile and helping to increase accuracy at the target.
Analysis of the projectile and chamber characteristics at freezing temperatures led to a reduction in cartridge diameter, facilitating the operation of the mechanism in manually operated or straight-pull biathlon rifles. A lubricant scientifically designed for use at low temperatures was developed, helping to ensure consistent performance and reduce barrel wear.
ELEY tenex biathlon also benefits from an increased powder charge, which provides the projectile with greater terminal energy and increased impact force, necessary for efficiently actuating biathlon targets.
